Challenges in Myanmar
This month’s newsletter brings both happy and sad news. As the summer unfolds Quadstar have had to cease moving forward with one of their satellite schools in Myanmar, after a great deal of effort the project has been halted as the team have been unable to get enough community commitment and therefore enrolment will simply be too low. It is such a shame however highly indicative of the challenges the UWS team faces working in countries like Myanmar.
So instead, QS have funded a Community Learning Site which has been built in a small remote village named Nant Lo in the Tachileik region of Myanmar, which sits opposite the Thai border town of Mae Sai. The Learning Centre opened last month and has made a huge impact already in the village! The team at Quadstar are delighted and cannot wait to visit the school in the future.
